How I Help

Flint Water Crisis
February 2016
After hearing the challenges that Flint, Michigan faced with clean water, a fellow team member came to me and asked, "Angela what are we going to do about it?" With only two weeks of effort, a HBCU collaboration (Lemoyne-Owen College), and a team of volunteers within the African Descent Network (ADN), we collected 900 cases of water that was sent to Flint in February 2016.
AIDS/HIV South Africa
June 2004 - August 2004
Through the New York University School of Public Health, I traveled to Cape Town, South Africa to study AIDS/HIV at Cape Town Medical School. While in South Africa I volunteered at the Philani Nutrition Center. I worked alongside social workers in Khalyeitsha and Mitchells Plain walking in neighborhoods speaking to women inflicted with AIDS and understanding the conditions and social norms that affected the community.
